1. Scope
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of this website and any services provided by Straight Vision, a freelance web development business based in Japan.
By accessing this website or engaging my services, you agree to these Terms.
2. Services
I provide the following services:
- Starter Sites – simple brochure-style websites
- Online Stores – e-commerce solutions (e.g., WooCommerce, Shopify)
- Custom Projects – bespoke web applications and advanced functionality
- Website maintenance and technical consulting
Specific deliverables, timelines, and scope are defined in individual proposals or written agreements.
3. Quotes & Pricing
All quotes are non-binding until confirmed in writing. Pricing varies depending on project scope, complexity, and timeline.
Any work requested outside the agreed scope may be quoted separately or billed at an hourly rate.
4. Payment Terms
Payment terms are defined in the project agreement. Unless otherwise stated, the standard structure is:
- Upfront deposit before work begins
- Final payment upon completion or prior to launch
- Additional fees for out-of-scope revisions or requests
Invoices may be issued in JPY, USD, or CHF depending on the client.
Late payments may result in project delays, suspension of services, or additional fees.
5. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- I retain ownership of reusable components, frameworks, and development tools
- You receive full rights to the final deliverables upon full payment
- Third-party assets (fonts, images, plugins, etc.) remain subject to their respective licenses
6. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:
- Provide accurate information and timely feedback
- Supply all required content (text, images, branding, etc.)
- Ensure they have legal rights to any materials they provide
Delays in providing required materials may impact project timelines.
7. Revisions & Scope
Each project includes a defined scope and, where applicable, a limited number of revisions.
Requests beyond the agreed scope may:
- Require a revised quote, or
- Be billed additionally at an agreed rate
8. Maintenance & Support
Ongoing maintenance, updates, or support are not included unless explicitly stated in a separate agreement.
For Online Stores and Custom Projects, ongoing maintenance is strongly recommended but remains the client's responsibility unless contracted.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for:
- Hosting outages or third-party service failures
- Security breaches outside my direct control
- Losses caused by misuse or unauthorized modifications
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
My total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific project giving rise to the claim.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate a project with written notice.
The client agrees to pay for all work completed up to the termination date. Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Japan.
12. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt first to resolve the matter in good faith through direct communication.
If no resolution can be reached, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.
13. Modifications
I may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of this website or my services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
